We are in December and this is the last monthly feature in our ‘Colour of the Month’ range. I am a true believer of finishing everything on a high and we, therefore, present you with one of my favourite colour-combinations this month: Black & Gold. When going through our image archive, the pictures with black and gold struck me the most, as some of the interiors and products are truly stunning. This colour combination is both extreme and contrasting (dark and light, matt and shimmering) and at the same time elegant and festive. So it is a perfect choice for the Christmas and the Holiday season. A black and gold dress is great a for an X-Mas party, a black handbag with golden buckles is always timeless and for trendsetters, a black leather biker jacket, with golden studs is a must have! Some years ago, I used to only wear colour and didn’t even own a single pair of black shoes! Can you imagine? But over time I learned to love black. It is chic, makes you appear slimmer and works with any complexion and any other colours. But what about interiors? Would you really paint a room in black and gold? I am very adventurous when it comes to colour in the home, but black and gold on the walls would even be too much for me. If you like the idea but are a coward like me, then what about wallpaper with a black and gold pattern? Or black and gold accessories and furniture. Lamps, sofas (yes, I have a black Chesterfield with gold studs), bowls, cabinets, mirrors... you name it. Have you seen our black and gold Fola pouffe? So classic, but stylish!
