“Your home should tell a story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.”, I live by this quote by interior design Nate Berkus!
Since being a very young age, I always loved creating living environments that reflected my style, my personality and character. Instead of paying with my dollies in the dollhouse, I decorated the rooms with cushions and bedsheets that I made from leftover fabrics, rearranged the furniture and even went as far as painting the walls of the dolls house with my crayons.
After years in fashion and TV journalism, I finally followed my true passion and created my interior brand Eva Sonaike!
So you can imagine how excited I was, when Jo Leevers, an interior writer and stylist who writes for the UK’s leading publications, such as The Guardian, Homes & Antiques and LivingEtc contacted me earlier this year to have a look around my house.
And a few weeks later, after a good clean and clear out, she visited me with the photographer Anna Stathaki, to shoot Casa Sonaike for the Observer Magazine, the Sunday edition of The Guardian.
And one sunny Sunday in early May, my dream came true, my house was featured in the Observer Magazine! I will share more images from my house later this year but in the meantime, have a look at https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/may/06/african-express-how-bright-textiles-brought-one-london-home-to-life Enjoy!
