Let There Be Light: Luxurious Lighting For Your Winter Home

Let There Be Light: Luxurious Lighting For Your Winter Home

Winter is now upon us and despite being relatively mild for December, it is dark! Actually, it is getting darker day by day for another few weeks. So what better time to brighten up your spirits with some great lighting ideas.

We are all about creating statements here are Eva Sonaike, which is why we have chosen these amazing luxurious, eye-catching lighting options for your home.

As you may know from my previous blog posts, I am a huge Tom Dixon fan, especially his lighting! His copper and zinc lamps will make a bold statement within your home, and will clearly stand out, creating signature pieces that enhance your space. I love the fact that reflections are captured within these lamps, giving a panoramic view of your room and making the space appear larger and more glamorous.

All it takes is one great chandelier to create a dramatic touch to any interior, which is why I had to include Philippe Starck’s Marie Coquine chandelier in this feature. The Marie Coquine chandelier is a cheeky and innovative reinterpretation of Baccarat’s classic Zenith chandelier. In this design, Philippe Starck has assembled a very peculiar inventory, as singular in scale as in concept. The components include the Clear crystal 12-light Zénith chandelier, 12 incandescent bulbs, 12 white Zenith lampshades, Baccarat’s signature red octagonal crystal, and an ivory canvas umbrella with a chestnut wood handle.

Another Baccarat masterpiece is the the Candy Light baby lamp, which reflects the playful universe of Jaime Hayon, with its fantasy and humour. The talent and creative exuberance of Spanish designer Jaime Hayon henceforth form an integral part of Baccarat's DNA. His designs for the firm include the successful Crystal Candy Set collection in 2009 and the Candy Light lamps in 2011. The Candy Light baby lamp - in a small format never before used in Baccarat lighting - highlights the perfect blend of ceramic and crystal with the purity and elegance of a decisive design.

And how much am I in love with Lee Broom’s Decanterlights?

Lee Broom is one of the UK’s leading product & interior designers. Since 2007 he has released over 75 furniture and lighting products, which he designs and manufactures under his own label and has created more than 20 products for other brands. His Decanterlight Chandelier is a stunning lighting centrepiece featuring two Square, two Bell and one Tulip Decanterlights hung at various lengths to create a luxurious installation of clear, hand-cut, crystal shades. Even my husband is in love with it, as it reminds him of the whisky decanter I bought his last Christmas.

If you want to add a simple, slightly industrial touch to your home I suggest the Danish brand Ebb & Flow’s pendants. Ebb & Flow have a Scandinavian fashionable appeal using a classic British and Nordic style as a starting point combined with a passion for the basic materials glass, metal and textiles. The result is a style that infuses lighting and glass with a fine airy simplicity and a modern edge and depth of colour.

Spectacular chandeliers, hanging, wall and table lamps, Lladro presents a whole range of lighting ideas in varies styles to fill your favourite rooms with light and make an impression.

The Belle de Nuit Chandelier is Lladro's interpretation and revival of a classic chandelier design. Thin porcelain lithophanes are used on this 24 light chandelier, radiating a warm glow and enhancing the beautiful details on this extravagant porcelain piece. Available in black, blue, gold, multicolour, pink and white, it will enhance your space dramatically.

We hope that you feel as inspired as we do by these beautiful lighting pieces and hope to leave the fabulous 2015 behind us and brighten and enhance 2016 with some unique and unusual artistic illuminations.

Excellent blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?

I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little
lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally overwhelmed ..
Any ideas? Cheers! maglie calcio
