I am super excited to share one of my recent press features with you. We have been very fortunate when it comes to press interest, with our products being regularly featured in Elle Decoration, Living Etc, The Guardian and even Wall Street Journal. But this summer I was approached by Phoenix magazine with a rather unusual request.
Established in 2010, PHOENIX is a biannual print magazine for free-thinking modern woman featuring 300 pages of exclusive interviews, trends, fashion shoots, style ideas, prose features, beauty must-haves, counter-culture discussion, philosophy, art, music, books, film, and travel.
It is independently published and printed in the UK and sold in Austria, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Singapore, Taiwan, United States, and of course the United Kingdom.
The shoot was part of Phoenix’s ongoing 'Capital Natives' self-styled portrait series, which focuses on London-based creatives who have great style.
For the AW17 issue, they were shooting a selection of the capital's most exciting interior designers and space-makers, either in their own homes or an interesting space that they have designed in a day and evening look of your choice. The feature included interior designers Russell and Jordan from 2LG Studio, David Carter, interior designer and 40 Winks hotel founder, multidisciplinary designer Bethan Laura Wood and myself. So you can imagine how honoured and excited I felt!
And the best was, that the shoot was photographed, by Anthony Lycett, the reclaimed London-based photographer and author of the project and book ‘Self-Styled’. The idea behind the Self-Styled project came from Anthony's interest in people who have a unique sense of self, inventive minds and the confidence to express themselves freely.
The magazine was published mid-October and I have been spending every little spare moment reading through the inspiring pages of science, art, interiors, music and philosophy, as well as exclusive interviews with pop culture icons and real-world characters.
A big thank you to the team at Phoenix and Anthony Lycett for allowing me to be part of this amazing feature. I truly enjoyed every moment of it!
